Ajax Concert Percussion has been a widely respected brand of timpani throughout Europe for many years, utilizing the musical knowledge and quality workmanship of Dutch timpanist Koos Terpstra.
Two models have been added to the orchestral percussion showroom on the advice of Paul Yancich, Professional Percussion Products' Artistic Consultant.

Introduction
Every single detail of the Grand Professional was developed in perfect harmony to create a timpani of a new era. Experience and expertise from many top timpanists have gone into the design of the 'Grand Professional' which has now become the choice of many leading symphonies, high school ensembles and universities. The 'Grand Professional' offers the professional player the widest range of tonal possibilities.
The Kettle
We have specifically selected the famous German deep drawn CAMBER style of kettle based upon its clarity of pitch and definition. This freely suspended bowl produces a totally distinguished and undistorted tone with a superlative resonance. The kettle is created from seamless red copper and the shape and depth are carefully calculated to provide maximum tone with reliable structural stability. Unlike many competitive brands, Ajax Timpani DO NOT use a Kettle Insert Ring at the lip of the kettle, which greatly inhibits the resonance of the kettle.
Pedal, Legs, and Casters
The pedal system of the 'Grand Professional' is a perfectly Balanced-Action spring mechanism; allowing the player instant and secure pitch changes with a touch of the foot's heel or toe. The Balanced-Action spring tension is fully adjustable with an adjusting knob on the base plate. The solid cast base plate has two large 360-degree breaking front casters and a small permanent "third wheel" caster under the tuning pedal.
Heads and Frame
The 'Grand Professional' frame is made of light aluminum. The AJAX timpani heads are manufactured by 'Remo USA'. All AJAX timpani are fitted with our 'Remo Renaissance' heads as standard equipment.
The 'Grand Professional' tuning gauges are accurate, reliable and fully adjustable. The gauge is place in front of the player for fast and precise tuning with easy-to-read chrome-plated fully adjustable letters.

The 'Voyager I' series from AJAX Concert Percussion is one of the most revolutionary series of timpani ever developed. The 'Voyager I' is a great sounding, easily transportable timpani that has been the popular choice of musicians for many years.
The Kettle
The light-weight deep-drawn parabolic polished copper kettle provides the same resonant, clear and defined timpani sound. The kettle edge or rim on which the head rests forms part of the kettle. There is no resonance distortion created by any steel carrying rim attached to the kettle. This stable kettle design gives the instrument its excellent tone and resonance.
Pedal, Legs and Casters
The pedal is easy and perfectly noiseless to operate; guaranteeing fast, accurate and effortless tuning. A light pressure applied to the pedal toe releases the pedal clutch, allowing the pedal and pitch to be put in any position.
The 3 telescopic legs can be adjusted individually. The front leg is fitted with a secure and reliable caster for easy on-site transportation. The legs can also be completely inserted into the instrument (kettle). With the legs fully inserted, the timpani can be easily transported in any car.
Heads and Frame

The 'Voyager I' tuning gauge is extremely accurate and fully adjustable. Placed in front of the player, the gauges are easy to read and the letter placement is fully adjustable.
